October 29, 2011

My amazing friends invited me to come over while they were getting ready for their Halloween party.  I go to watch Ian and Matthew get totally vamped out all while hanging out with Abbe (who may be the coolest person I know).

It made me realize that although I don't have a twitter account, and I don't follow twitter at all, I really have a strong urge to talk in hashtags.  I know.  I am a product of my generation.  But these guys owned these costumes.  #awesomesauce.

Bear with me and the massive amount of pictures I'm about to post :)

We'll start with the makeup:

And then the results:

And then the fun:

Ummm...yeah.  #Awesomesauce.

I've learned a couple of things about Vegas in the time that I've spent there.

#1. I would love to go there simply to take pictures.
#2. I am not comfortable enough in my own skin to geek out with my camera around my coworkers.
#3. Vegas makes me come home with a cold.  Everytime.
#4. It is possibly to have bad food, really, really bad food in Vegas.

Anyhow.  In the 10 seconds I had my camera out in the week that I was there, this is what I came back with:

The next picture is of a chandelier in The Cosmopolitan.  The chandelier is so big, there is a bar inside of it.  Ahh...Vegas....

And this is the only good food I ate all week:

I will also gladly give it the title of the best milkshake of my life.

October 12, 2011

The wedding was over.  The journey home was...well...a journey.  Brian worked diligently to keep my spirits up as the drive home stretched out longer and longer and turned more and more into an adventure.  When the toothless hillbilly Santa brought us to his "shop" somewhere in Montana, I definitely have Deliverance flashes of dueling banjos running through my mind.

But then I stopped.
And I looked around.
And I realized that it was beautiful.

I grabbed a quick picture on my Blackberry, but it just didn't capture the view.  I got my camera out of the truck and hesitantly asked if I could take some pictures of their property. (I really need to work on my courage)

This is what I got:

Yeah.

Worth it.
