Okay, so here's the deal...Brian has been telling me for weeks now that it's time to cut Daijo's hair.  I just haven't been able to commit.  He's been so dang cute with all that hair in his face.  Yesterday at puppy class, the teacher totally called me out and told me I had to get him trimmed.  Ouch.  Her points were valid, I guess.  With all the hair in his eyes, he could miss something and get hurt - it's a safety concern no matter how adorable it is.

I give. Time for a hair cut.

Because Brian is a million times more courageous than I, he decided that we could do the haircuts ourselves. Whoa.  I can't put into words how nervous I was about making both of our beautiful boys look ridiculous, but holy cow, they both came out looking so dang cute.

I'll get a better picture of Daijo later this week; the experience made him really tired.  He wasn't too enthused that I then pulled the camera out in his face. (At least you can see his eye now, though even with his poopy expression!)

Just in case we forget how much fun Venn has playing at puppy class, his fur serves as a gentle reminder of his happy moments.

It's finally starting to become real.  We went rug shopping and it was surprisingly fun.  The next couple of weeks can't go fast enough.

I think this whole week is going to be about the boys. It's my blog though, right? Good enough for me.

We have lost Daijo's eyes. I think that's why he's sticking so close to Venn.

Sometimes, the fact that both dogs like to sleep in my lap at the same time is all I need to make the world a better place.

Like we haven't been to enough puppy classes recently, today, we started a new one.  This one is called Pup'prentice, and this is the one we've been waiting for.  It's actually the reason that we found our current trainers.

Today, our boys officially became "therapy dog apprentices,"  Complete with vests to prove it.

Is it silly if I mention how proud I am of these guys?  Good grief.  God forbid I ever have an honor student child, but seriously, look at these guys.  Don't they look like their just ready to go and heal the world - one helpless dog-lover at a time?

On a side note, I love my new SB900.  I can actually take pictures of Daijo at night now. :)

It's really October.  I can't believe how fast this year is flying by.  Because it's October, I'm celebrating fall.  Nothing says fall to me like zucchini bread. Very few things make me happier than the smell of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon wafting out of the kitchen.

Here is the story of this zucchini bread:  On Monday night, I was in Sequim, Washington with my boss, Jennifer (yes, Sunny Sequim - a beautiful location, but a little light on the whole "restaurant thing").  To be perfectly honest, I haven't dined at a lot of places out here, but the one place that looked promising on Yelp was closed on Mondays.  Ugh.  We wound up at a little Italian joint called Tarcisio's.   The food wasn't horrible, but we both ordered a dish that was served with grilled zucchini on the side.  The slices were ginormous and tasted a little bit like heaven.  We mentioned so much to the waitress.  She explained that there is a local farmer that sells them and right now they have so many that there is hardly any other space in their refrigerators.  I jokingly mentioned that I would be more than happy to take one off of their hands.
It pays to joke around.
The waitress came back to our table with the biggest zucchini I've ever seen all wrapped up and ready to go. *Grin*

On to tonight...
This zucchini shredded enough to make 3 batches of bread.  OMG.  I couldn't justify 3, but 2 batches was a snap...or so I thought.  I mean, I had even picked up extra eggs and everything.  I totally had enough ingredients.  Well, except I was missing a cup of sugar.
Here is the one benefit of living in an apartment complex: My boyfriend totally lived out the experience of literally asking a neighbor for a cup of sugar.
Wow.  He is my hero.
And his efforts helped create the best zucchini bread I've ever had in my life.

(And we have enough to have extra loaves in the freezer.  Woo Hoo!)

Daijo channeled his poodle ancestry today and figured out how to jump...I mean, really jump.  He jumped onto the bathroom counter.  Twice.  He practically jumped onto the kitchen counter. The cous de gras was when he almost made it onto our bar-height dining table.  Venn (crazy, energetic, sometimes-spastic Venn) didn't even know what to do with the Daijonator and all that jumping.  He truly seemed overwhelmed.

Once all the jumping crazies were done, Daijo then decided on a new favorite place in the apartment to relax.

How could I not take a picture of that?

Today, I'm thankful that even when I feel like crap, I still have two of the most precious pups around.  Something about their almost unbearable cuteness just makes me feel a little bit better.

Brian keeps telling me it's time to get Daijo's hair cut, but I just can't commit to it yet.  How am I supposed to get over his extreme muppet-ness?

And while Daijo may have the muppet market covered, he has nothing on the perfection of Venn's nose.

Happy Day!  It's official - after almost 3 months of house hunting and 5 offers on other houses, Brian and I officially have sealed the deal on a new house!  Our offer was accepted as well as our inspection contingencies.  Our only wait now is for the financing to be finalized so we can close.

This is us toasting in front a picture of the new place.  That's as good as it gets for now :)  (Oh, and try to ignore how sick I look - it's been a rough week)

This is my life right now.  Well, I guess you could probably add Kleenex to the mix, too.  I got sick last week when my parents came into town, and instead of getting better, I feel like I'm getting worse.  Thank goodness for OTC drugs and 24-hour Walgreens.

I just love it when I pick up a camera that I haven't used in a while and I find a picture still on it that I had forgotten about.  Giggles all around.

This is a picture of two of the guys that I work with from back in February.  We went to West Yellowstone for a meeting.  There was a lot of snow and a lot of giant icicles.  I'm pretty sure Trent was getting "knighted" at this point.
